General Questions
Why is it necessary to Log Out?
When you log out, it completely removes the cookie from your browser. This is a good thing because it is possible for other "hacker" websites to read your cookie information and possible get into your account. So when in doubt, log out!
How do I close my account?
Log into your account and on the left navigation panel, simply choose "close account." Remember, you always sign up again for free but your stats from previous accounts will be gone.
What happens when my Database Usage reaches 500 - does it stop tracking?
NO WAY! For the free service we can only offer a log size of 500 to our members, and we perform the detailed analysis on this. Bigger log files put a greater strain on our servers and cannot be provided free of charge. We would like to, but it just isn't sustainable. So when you upgrade your account, you get a higher log file, more data, and more analytics.
When your log size if full, it simply overwrites the oldest entry in the database. You get to use that log size to its maximum! So, in effect, your account never locks up and always allows you access to your data.
Do you reserve the right to share my email addresses or my clients' site users' email addresses with third parties?
We 100% absolutely do not. Your personal and private data is kept private. We will not share it with any third parties. And we have no way of getting your website users' email addresses, but if we did we still wouldn't share it with any third parties. We keep the overheads of this site to a minimum and manage to operate it free of charge because of our generous advertisers on the WebsiteStatsCounter.com website only - not yours.

Statistics Explained
Pageload - This is the amount of times a webpage(s) from your website has be loaded into a web browser. This does not tell you how many people are actually visiting your site though. It only shows you how often your webpages are being accessed. This means that 1 person could be clicking refresh 10,000 times or conversely 10,000 people could be loading 1 webpage each.
Click - these are the amount of times a link has been clicked on the webpage(s) being tracked. This is a good indicator of your visitors going from one webpage to another. This is indicitive of “interest” in your webpages.
Unique Visitor - This is an individual person that is visiting your website/webpage. The number of unique visitors gives you a good idea of how many different people are visiting your site. The more unique visitors you have, the better.
Return Visitor - This is a unique visitor that has visitor your website or webpage 2 or more times. This means that he/she really liked your site and came back at a later time. This is good because it shows that your website is a place that they would come back to in the future. Getting the visitors is the first step, retaining them is the second. This is what “Return Visitor” tracks.
