Unique Visitor - This is an individual person that is visiting your website/webpage. The number of unique visitors gives you a good idea of how many different people are visiting your site. The more unique visitors you have, the better.

Return Visitor - This is a unique visitor that has visitor your website or webpage 2 or more times. This means that he/she really liked your site and came back at a later time. This is good because it shows that your website is a place that they would come back to in the future. Getting the visitors is the first step, retaining them is the second.
